Downhill Mayhem Instructions

The controls for Downhill Mayhem are as easy and as straightforward as it could get. Just like most BMX or bike games out there, press the up directional key to pedal forward and accelerate. While you are in mid air, just press the space bar button as well as one of the direction buttons to pull off a stunt or trick. Now that we have taken care of the basics, let's take a closer look at the game...

Downhill Mayhem Walkthrough

It's all about going downhill and pulling off stunts! This is Downhill Mayhem. The objective of the game is very simple and straightforward: you are placed on a track... a very rocky one with lots of ups and downs. You need to race through that track and reach the finish line. If you are unfortunate enough to land on water...or if you ran out of time, then the game is over and you need to restart the level.

And for those of you who take the fun out of life and are thinking: "I'm going to play this safe and steady. No tricks, I'll just play to reach the other end and move on from there!" Nah, sorry to burst your bubble folks BUT that doesn't quite work. It may work in the first 2 stages or so. HOWEVER, later on, you need to reach a certain score to move to the next challenge. If your score isn't quite enough, you need to replay the level. And the only way to score as much as you can is to bust out one trick after another on your way to the finish line!

In light of that, it's essential that we take a closer look at the stunts and tricks in this exciting bike game:

(1) First off, we have the Big Air Catch. This is done by staying airborne as long as possible. Just hold down the up arrow key, accelerate, and launch yourself through a ramp... and VIOLA! You are now airborne. Pulling this off will add 1000+ points to your score. The longer you are in the air, the more points you gain in the process.

(2) Next, we have the 360 Degree Spin. To pull this off, you should go airborne, press the space bar button, as well as the down arrow key. Pull this off and you will get 750 points. It's almost similar to the Table Top trick (though it scores way lower at 300 points) except that you need to press the up arrow key instead.

(3) The Superman, which is one of the most popular tricks in bike games like this, is done by hitting the space bar button and then pressing the right arrow key. This gives you 1000 points.

(4) The Back flips and front flips - these are 2 tricks that should be in the arsenal of every BMX and bike games lover. Press the left arrow key in mid air to perform the back flip and bag 1250 points. The front flip, on the other hand, will earn you 2000 points and it's done by pressing the right arrow key while you are airborne.

(5) Last BUT definitely not the least, we have the Tail Whip, which is worth 750 points. Just press the space bar button along with the left arrow key to execute this stunt.

Sounds all good and nice right? I'm sure it does. BUT keep in mind: when you pull off tricks one after the other, it's easy to err and slam your bike and biker on the dusty grounds. While this will not kill your character, it will surely lower down your score and eat some time off of your clock. In simpler terms, it's NOT good when you err and get 'wiped out' as they call it in the game.

Overall, I must say that this is a very nice BMX and bike game. The graphics are cool enough to catch attention, focuses on a lot of tricks and stunts, comes with easy to understand controls, and those are just to name a few of the niceties that this game has. Summing things up, I HIGHLY recommend that fans of bike games and BMX games to check this out!
