CycloManiacs 2 Walkthrough

CycloManiacs 2 is the sequel to the 2009 bike racing game, CycloManiacs. This game features improved graphics, fifty new characters, and a plethora of powerups to be unlocked!

That's right, this is a huge game. CycloManiacs 2 builds off of the enthralling gameplay of its predecessor while adding a ton of new content. The game's menu is drawn with the same care and attention to cartoonish detail that the main game is drawn in. This menu also features plenty of "Easter eggs" and secret minigames to be found (more about these later). I won't give away their locations though since discovering them is part of the challenge!

Buying upgrades is essential to success in CycloManiacs 2. By default, your racer may be difficult to control and sluggish in comparison to the AI-controlled racers. Buy upgrades between levels with your earnings from races to even the score in this bike game! You can even buy a minigame upgrade which will increase your performance in minigames, making it much easier to unlock every zany character.

CycloManiacs 2 features five minigames which, if performed well enough in, reward the player with extra characters. Although these are only minigames, the developers paid attention to detail and it shows. The minigames contain the same cartoonish style and zaniness offered by the primary game.

We've discussed all of the wonderful features that this game offers. Now, let us discuss the primary aspect of CycloManiacs 2: the racing. The game is a challenge to say the least, and the AI racers seem to have an unfair advantage (one that can be mitigated by purchasing powerups). This does not take away from the fun of the game, but merely adds to the challenge. During the race, the player may perform stunts such as getting air, wheelies, and flips. Performing enough stunts may unlock character, but most-importantly, it fills the player's stunt meter, which, when full, fills the player's boost meter. When the player is boosted, their speed will increase, giving them an edge over the AI-controlled racers. Finishing the race in a good position will unlock the next track, reward more money for upgrades, and in some cases, unlock characters.

If you've played and enjoyed the first CycloManiacs, you will certainly enjoy CycloManiacs 2. Even if you haven't played the original, this is one bike game that you do not want to pass up.
