BMX Backflips Walkthrough

BMX Backflips is an entertaining and surprisingly addictive BMX game that challenges you to meet the goals posed to you in each level so that you can progress to the next level. The level goals are really what sets this game apart from many of the other BMX games online. The basic format of the game is fairly familiar. You ride your bike from the starting point on the left side of the screen to the finish line on the right, riding over a variety of hills and pits in the terrain as you travel - not really all that unique. The fact that merely making it to the other side isn't your only requirement for passing the level makes this game quite a bit more difficult than much of the competition in the BMX game genre, but is also what makes this one so much fun to play.

You have only three lives to get through all of the levels in BMX Backflips, and if the limited number of lives and the level goals aren't enough to really make the game difficult enough to prove to be a challenge for you, there is also a time limit. If you run out of time before you reach the finish line, you lose one of those three lives. If you reach the finish line in time but fail to achieve the goal for the level, you will also lose a life. Finally, if you crash and land upside down, you will lose a life. Lose all three lives and your game is over and you'll have to start from the beginning. For that reason, you really need to focus on every aspect of your ride as you play. You need to make sure you keep your bike balanced so you don't crash. You need to figure out exactly what you need to do to accomplish your goals and make sure you do it as quickly as you possibly can so you don't fail to reach your goal or run out of time. As you progress in the game, goals get a little harder to reach and tracks get a little more complicated so you'll have a bit of a harder time making it through the end and doing everything you need to do, but that challenge is why this game is so addictive. Each time you fail, you want to play again to try to make it a little further than you did the time before. With enough time and practice, you will be able to beat the game. It just takes patience.

Newcomers to BMX games are going to have a bit of a hard time with BMX Backflips. This is a game that definitely rewards experience. It can be hard to keep your bike wheel side down, especially if you've never played a game that requires you to do so. The key to preventing crashes is balance. You need to lean forward or back on your bike to keep yourself from flipping over when you're riding over hills or down into bowls. If you start flipping, you may be able to right yourself or even perform a back flip if you time your leaning properly, but the better idea is to just attempt to keep your bike balanced. Later in the game, one of the level goals requires you to keep your wheels level in the air at all times. That isn't easy to do but luckily by then, you should have plenty of experience keeping your bike balanced anyway. As for reaching the other level goals such as collecting stars or completing a specific number of back flips, your best strategy will change depending on the goal. One thing always remains the same though - don't sacrifice stability on your bike to try to reach your goal. Both things are important so focus on them equally.

One of the more difficult level goals for newcomers in BMX Backflips is going to be 'beating the butterfly'. You need to move fairly quickly in order to stay ahead, but you also need to focus on solid landings when you come off ramps. Struggling to balance your bike once your on the ground will cost you time. Instead, focus on trying to balance your bike while its still in the air. Look at the terrain where you expect to land and try to make sure your wheels are in a good position for the impact. Also have your fingers ready on the left and right arrow keys to quickly correct any tilt that results from a bounce upon landing. It's also important to maintain a decent speed which can be difficult when you encounter new obstacles that will slow you down. Do your best, but don't be surprised if you lose a life on this one. It's fairly difficult; especially for someone with little experience in the BMX game genre.

The best way to do well in BMX Backflips is to do everything you can to gain speed without sacrificing control. Leaning back on your bike while riding will give you a pretty decent speed boost, but you need to make sure you're ready to lean forward to prevent yourself from flipping if you lean back to far. You can also handle bowls more effectively by allowing your front wheel to hit the bowl first. Lean back to keep yourself from flipping forward and to maintain a decent speed and no bowl in the game should be too hard to overcome. If you're a high score fanatic you can boost your score by doing back flips and wheelies, but make sure you have a good handle on controlling your bike before you attempt to get a higher score. It's also important to make sure you have enough room to land a back flip before you even attempt it. If you don't, your attempted back flip can easily turn into a crash and a lost life. Wheelies are a bit easier as you don't actually have to leave the ground to perform them. Just keep in mind that leaning back too far to do a wheelie will result in a crash. If it looks like things are headed that way, lean forward and you should be able to keep yourself from crashing.

Overall, BMX Backflips is the type of game any fan of BMX games is going to love. It's difficult and different enough from most of the other BMX games online to feel fresh and new. The graphics aren't spectacular, but they're more than enough to hold your interest. Newcomers are going to have a hard time in the beginning, but the game never feels impossible to beat for even the most inexperienced players. Those with a little more experience on their side are going to find this one a bit on the easy side as far as the actual riding goes, but will appreciate the increased level of difficulty that comes with the level goals and the time limit. If you are a fan on BMX games, this is one you absolutely should not pass up. It's a lot of fun and will keep you coming back for more game after game.
